What can you diagnose?
Engine, transmission, ABS, airbag, body/comfort, infotainment and hybrid-drive systems on every mainstream European, Japanese and Korean brand. Common jobs: intermittent misfires, limp mode, EPC/MIL warnings, sensor validation, pre-purchase inspections, and post-modification health checks.
How is this different from Halfords?
A high-street code reader speaks to the engine module only, and only in generic OBD language. Our tools speak the factory language of every module on the CAN bus — you get the same access as a main dealer, plus the ability to log live data at 100+ parameters per second.
Do you do pre-purchase inspections?
Yes. If you're about to buy a used performance car in Nottingham, Derby or the East Midlands, we'll come to the seller with you and give you a full electronic report on every module, adaptation and fault history before you hand over any money.
Our diagnostic process, step by step
We don't just plug in and read a code. First we listen to the symptom and when it happens. Then we pull fault codes from every module on the vehicle — not just the engine — and read the freeze-frame data stored when each fault set. Next we log live data while the fault is present: sensor values, actuator responses, fuel trims, voltages and timing, often on a short road test so we capture the car misbehaving rather than idling in a driveway. Only then do we interpret it against known-good values for your exact platform. You get a written summary in plain English: what's actually wrong, what's a symptom versus a cause, and a fixed quote for the fix.
Diagnostics across Nottingham
Nottingham drivers spend a lot of time crawling the ring road and then opening up on the A52 or M1 — exactly the mix a well-written Stage 1 map improves. We see huge numbers of 2.0 TDI Golfs, 320ds and Transit Customs around NG postcodes, so the calibrations we write for them are refined over hundreds of local data-logs rather than pulled from a generic file database. Tradespeople in Bulwell and Clifton book us for van torque; commuters in Mapperley and Arnold want smoother mid-range for the hills; and enthusiasts in Wollaton and West Bridgford want Stage 2 files with proper before/after logging.
